Blissfully Sinful Butterfinger Pie

Disclaimer:  This pie is addicting, and you will want to indulge with an after-dinner piece every night until it is gone.  I made this pie a few weeks ago, and after the pie was devoured by hubby and myself, I then decided to make an Oreo version the next week.  The week after, I created a Heath Bar version.  I then avoided the scale for awhile. :-)

This pie is the easiest pie you will EVER make.  It only involves 4 ingredients, and it tastes super special.  It would be a perfect pie to bring to a Memorial Day cookout (as long as it is kept cool until right before serving).  Make it tomorrow, and use your favorite candy - anything works!

Ingredients:
6 Butterfinger bars (we used 6 or 7 mini snack-sized bars to reduce SOME of the fat content, and it worked out just deliciously)
one 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened to room temperature (we used low-fat)
one 12 oz. carton of Cool Whip (we used low-fat)
1 graham cracker crust (pre-prepared or homemade)

The Process:
Make sure the cream cheese is softened at room temperature; this is a critical step.  Crush the candy bars in a plastic baggie with a mallet or hammer just enough so that you have bite-sized bits, as well as some crumbly pieces.  You definitely want some texture there.

With a spatula or a mixer at low speed, mix together the cream cheese and Cool Whip in a large bowl.  Add in about 75% of the Butterfinger candy to the mixture, and stir everything together lightly.

Scoop the insanely magical mixture into a graham cracker crust, spread it evenly, top with the remaining candy pieces, and place in the refrigerator to cool and set for atleast 3-4 hours.  We actually popped the Oreo version in the freezer for more of an "Oreo-blizzard" kind of experience.

Whatever you choose to do, and however you choose to make this pie, you will love it!  It is creamy, crunchy, and truly addicting.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
